Another medical horror comes to light

It has been all over the Twitterverse today. The US Government conducted medical experiments on unsuspecting citizens of Guatemala in the 1940s – about the same time the Tuskegee fiasco was unfolding.

I have put together a compendium of tweets, with links to additional information, using a service called Storify. Let me know if you like this approach! It provides a broader perspective than just my view.

It is not only the people of Tuskegee that the United States experimented on back in the 1940s — without subjects’ permission or even their knowledge. In fact, they downright lied to them. How can they ever make up for the suffering they caused to innocent men, women, and children?

What other unspeakable and amoral atrocities wait to be revealed? There’s only one word to sum this up: indefensible.

  1. Your blog is pretty cool to me and your topics are very relevant. I was browsing around and came across something you might find interesting. I was guilty of 3 of them with my sites. “99% of website managers are guilty of these 5 errors”. You will be suprised how fast they are to fix.
